AI reservations, websites and search for restaurants and hotels

A restaurant or hotel gets its calls exactly when it is busiest. Reservations, allergies, group bookings and late arrivals all come through one phone that nobody can hold for long.

A working day

Illustration of a typical day in this industry, not a client’s.

  1. 11:50Lunch service starts. A caller wants a table for twelve on Saturday and asks whether the kitchen can do two gluten-free plates. The phone is behind the bar, and the bar has a queue. Voicemail.
  2. 15:20The till is counted and tonight’s table plan is drawn. The missed call is still on the screen. The chef will call back after prep.
  3. 18:05A guest who booked through Booking writes that they will arrive at 23:00 and asks whether the kitchen will still be open. The message lands in an inbox nobody opens during service.
  4. 21:30Dinner service. Tuesday’s three-star review, “nice food, nobody answered the phone”, still has no reply.
  5. +1Next morning the manager calls the group back. They have booked somewhere that answered the first time. Saturday’s long table stays empty.

Where clients slip away

  • The phone rings during service

Guests call to book at lunch and at dinner, exactly when the kitchen is full and the host is seating a table. A voice agent takes the reservation, asks about the number of guests, the time, allergies and the occasion, and writes it into your table plan. The caller gets an SMS confirmation before hanging up.

  • A PDF menu and a Booking page

Search engines and AI assistants cannot read a menu saved as a PDF, and when your rooms live only on Booking, they point to Booking instead of you. A website with the menu as text, the opening hours, the rooms and a direct booking form gives them something to quote, and a direct booking carries no commission. The AI visibility check on this site shows what assistants say about you today.

  • Unanswered reviews, guests who never return

Between services nobody has time to answer a review, and the guest from May is forgotten by September. An assistant drafts the reply in your voice and posts it when you tap yes. One client record keeps the visit, the allergies and the occasion, so the invitation before the holidays goes out on its own.

What an assistant looks for

When recommending a place to eat, assistants rely on menus, opening hours and recent reviews they can read. A PDF menu and a Facebook page are close to invisible to them.

Questions from this industry

Can an agent take a reservation without seeing the table plan?

It sees the same plan your host sees and books only into the times you leave open. It asks about allergies and the occasion, and passes anything it cannot place, like the whole room for a wedding, to a person.

Most of our rooms are booked through Booking. Why would we need a website?

Guests go to Booking once they have decided, and the commission comes off every stay. A page an assistant can read, with the rooms, the restaurant hours and a direct form, gives the guest who asks ChatGPT first a reason to book with you. You keep the Booking listing either way.
